Overview:
A search for a tool to augment the job scheduling power of Zeke uncovered a unique solution to a common set of problems for a PA-based department store chain. Currently running a newly installed System z/10 in their long time IBM mainframe-based IT shop, they implemented SEGUS' SmartIS.

SmartIS is a mainframe-based data collection and analysis package that allows an organization to quickly and easily cross-reference, analyze, and graphically display z/OS system data. It provides a single, intuitive interface to access and analyze data from multiple different sources from a common dialog.

This case study will discuss how the store is using SmartIS to aid in job scheduling change management, PCI documentation, operations troubleshooting, and disaster recovery, while also experiencing continued savings through increased efficiency.
