Storage planning and management are major infrastructure management components in large database deployments. Given that data growth is astronomical in today's environment, it is very important to understand the storage system's ability to meet future storage needs. This paper outlines the different options available to expand the storage capacity in Oracle databases environments that are deployed on PS EqualLogic™ storage and Oracle ASM. It provides examples of the various storage capacity expansion options available for the PS storage that complement Oracle ASM for Windows® and Linux deployments. It also explores the different options available for multipath configuration and provides a comparative analysis of those options for Windows and Linux deployments.
